L&L: Tell us a little about the Maine Snapshot Studio.
SNAPSHOT: Maine Snapshot Studio is a portable digital self-portrait studio that provides a fun, memorable experience for wedding receptions, corporate event and private functions. The studio is 7′ tall, 6′ wide and 5′ deep when assembled and includes all the necessary accessories including a camera, remote control and a human attendant to ensure everything operates smoothly. Images taken are posted online to a password-protected online gallery for viewing and ordering prints two weeks after the event. Clients also receive a disc of high resolution images with a personal use license agreement.
L&L: What packages do you offer?
SNAPSHOT: Pricing is broken down into three categories: Wedding Pricing: $895 for 4 hours, including disc of images. Corporate Pricing: $495 for 2 hours, including disc of images. Private Event Pricing: $350 for 2 hours, including disc of images. Tho based in Portland, we do travel to outside areas for an additional fee.
L&L: Adding a photo booth can seem like a splurge for some couple’s budgets. How would you reply to this statement?
SNAPSHOT: We agree which is why the pricing for this particular booth is so affordable compared to the more traditional photo booths with the curtain that only output a strip of thumbnail photographs. Furthermore, the quality of the images captured in the Maine Snapshot Studio are toned to a rich black and white, instant favorites among guests and inexpensive enlargement gift options.
L&L: Some people can be a little camera shy. What do you suggest people can do to loosen up for their photo booth debut?
SNAPSHOT: Maine Snapshot Studio is a wee bit addictive. Sure, your first time in may be a little awkward, but as soon as you get the rhythm (point the remote at the camera until you see the red light, then wait 3 seconds for the flash to fire), a drink or two and a few friends alongside you, the creativity will begin to flow! We don’t bring props with us, but you are more than welcome to supply your own according to you event’s theme or season as you see fit. It’s an activity guests of all ages can appreciate and have fun with, and everyone enjoys the instant gratification of taking a peek at the preview to see how their self-portrait turned out.
L&L: Every person seems to have a gorgeous glow in your photographs. How do you do it?
SNAPSHOT: We know! We hear this all the time. The high key look of the portrait smooths out blemishes and highlights key features. No concealer needed here.
L&L: How far in advance should a couple book for their wedding day or corporate event?
SNAPSHOT: We recommend booking the booth, which requires a 50% deposit, just as soon as you decide you must have it at your wedding or event. As we only currently have one booth, once someone else snatches it up, unfortunately you’re out of luck.
L&L: How do most of your clients find you?
SNAPSHOT: Maine Snapshot Studio is rented through emilie inc. photography. Wedding couples can add the booth to their wedding day package if they like. We have also booked the booth for clients outside our studio and simply through word of mouth for corporate and private events.
L&L: Thank you for giving us an inside peek into Maine Snapshot Studio. If readers want to get in touch with you to inquire about your availability, what is the best way for them to reach you?
