L&L: Tell us a little bit about you & your business.

Not only am I a Maine Master Florist, but my previous career was as a chef here in Portland. I’ve developed long lasting professional ties with several of the city’s best caterers, planners and officiants. Blue Fern offers custom tailored florals and the personalized service to make your event delivery and set up stress free. I partner with local farmers and growers throughout the entire season to offer the best, local and fresh elements that New England has to offer.

L&L: Describe the range of services you offer.

Blue Fern offers a wide variety of services, from simple daily delivery to wedding, personal celebration or funeral florals. We offer a complimentary consultation at your home, office or where it is convenient for you. We offer day of services such as multiple delivery and set up options and offer rental services on our larger display pieces.

L&L: What is one thing you would say makes your business unique in the industry?

What makes partnering with Blue Fern so special are the relationships we develop with our clients. We work very closely with each person to include the vision they have. We take into account all the details that matter; location, season, color palette venue specifications and budget. We do not offer “package deals” and pride ourselves on each event being unique.

L&L: What are some of your favorite venues and vendors you enjoy working with in the area?

Being in Maine we have so many beautiful locations and talented vendors. Island, coast or forest we have it all! I enjoy working with Black Tie Catering especially at their Harborview location on Peaks Island, and don’t forget The Inn On Peaks. The O At Ka Camp on Sebago Lake offers amazing scenery any time of the year. Other vendors I work with include Black Betty’s Bistro, Catering By Evalin, Fire and Co, Maine Mixologist and A Family Affair.

L&L: How far in advance do couples usually book you for their wedding day?

I start booking for wedding in a year in advance, September and July are usually the first two months to be sold out.

L&L: How do most clients find you?

Most clients find me through my website, by referral from past clients and local catering and event planners.

L&L: How can couples get in touch with you?

Couples may call direct, email or Facebook me.
