What are some of your favorite venues and vendors you enjoy working with in the area?

In the mid-coast area, I feel we have been graced with some gorgeous venues with breathtaking coastal and mountain views. It stands to reason why people are drawn to marry in Maine. A few of my favorites are…

The Samoset Resort – It is practically in my backyard, but I love the options that are available to couples. It makes for a wonderful wedding weekend celebration.

Camden Amphitheater: Although it’s a “public” venue, the garden amphitheater setting feels very intimate.  Gazing across the street guests can see the schooners mooring in Camden Harbor.

The Camden Yacht Club: defines quintessential Maine! The location is to die for with views of the mountains meeting the sea and overlooking Camden Harbor.

Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse: A true gem! It’s a one-of-a kind location for a small intimate wedding.

Private Residences: There are two main reasons I love having the opportunity to design and plan a wedding at a private residence… First, it’s often steep in family memories, and I bask in hearing the family tales filled with love and emotion. Second, every residence is different, so it’s a joy to see how each property transforms for the event.

How far in advance to couples usually book you for their wedding day?

Couple’s usually book our services at least a year in advance. However, I’m beginning to see a new trend with couple’s having shorter engagements, especially with couple’s who become engaged over the winter holidays and would like a Maine summer wedding. They’re not wanting to to wait a year and half, and therefore turn to us for our guidance and expertise to plan and execute a wedding in 6 to 8 months.

How do most clients find you?

Most of the clients we receive are by referral. Although in 2015, the majority of couple’s found us through a web search or seeing our work featured in a publication.

What is the most memorable wedding you’ve worked at and why?

Wow, that’s a tough question! If I’m completely honest, two weddings come to mind. Both pull on my heartstrings and involve stories of sadness, triumphed by love, hope, and faith. Out of privacy and respect, no names, but the stories are similar in nature. Both involve parents of the couple who were terminally ill, and medically, they were unsure if their parent would be physically present for their wedding.

I believe most parents dream about their child’s wedding from the time they’re in the womb, as children also envision their parents presence, so to witness the strength and perseverance as the parents held on to life to be present on their child’s wedding day … words cannot begin to describe the intense emotions. Both weddings, I never felt a stronger love, the air was charged, so emotionally moving and empowering.

How can couples get in touch with you?

I can be reached by phone, email, or text. I love listening and talking to couples, and if you’re in need of hearing small southern twang, do not hesitate to call. Follow us on social media where you can see the most recent work, my travels, and see lots of adorable photos of my daughter and our rescue dog, Maggie.
