A Styled Affair

L&L: Tell us a little bit about you & your business.

I have always loved fashion but wanted to broaden that reach beyond clothing and infuse it into a business where I could bring my other talents for design and styling together. My career in account and program management has enabled me to leverage my organizational and managerial skills to establish a business where I could showcase my creative passions. After successfully planning my own wedding, I knew that this was not only a business I could run with and succeed in, but one that I could have fun with every step of the way.

L&L: Describe the range of services you offer.

A Styled Affair is primarily an event design and styling agency with services ranging from editorial design, event design, style consultation, day of coordination, and full event planning.

L&L: What is one thing you would say makes your business unique in the industry?

A Styled Affair was created for an audience looking for unique and trendy ways to celebrate their special occasion. Drawing inspiration from fashion, photography, and interior design enables me to curate on-trend celebrations that also cater to the unique personality of the client.

L&L: What are some of your favorite venues and vendors you enjoy working with in the area?

What I really love about being part of this industry is meeting vendors across all areas of the business. One of the first vendors I worked was calligrapher, Alaina Montuori, of Extras by Alaina, and we instantly clicked with our design aesthetic and our sense of humor. She has been a joy to work with and has become a friend! I have met and worked with many great photographers along the way, Joseph Laurin Photography, Jamie Mercurio Photography, Ashley Caroline Photography and some amazing hair and makeup artists as well; Jennie Kay Beauty and Sarah Adams of Follain. Lastly, you can’t be in this industry without your go-to florists and some of my favorites are Laura Jean Floral and Design, 1956blooms, and Wildfolk Studio. I wish I could list every last vendor I have worked with because they enable me to pull everything together beautifully!

L&L: How far in advance do couples usually book you for their wedding day?

I’ve had couples book me anywhere from 12-18 months in advance but I’ve also had couples reach out to me for Day of Coordination in as little as 4 weeks in advance of their date.

L&L: How do most clients find you?

Most of my clients are from referrals while others seem to be through Instagram and Facebook.

L&L: What is the most memorable wedding you worked at and why?

One of the most memorable events I have planned was a styled shoot with Jamie Mercurio Photography andLaura Jean Floral and Design. That was the first shoot where I truly felt my unique vision and style come to life. From the Alexandra Grecco skirt, to the hair, makeup, and florals, everything was visually stunning when pulled together. Jamie found the best beach location in Maine for the shoot and her images were amazing. I will always have a special place in my heart for that styled shoot since it was one of my firsts and the first time I felt my style coming through.

L&L: How can couples get in touch with you?

It’s best to contact me through email. We can confirm the date is still open, and then dig into the juicy details and easily exchange inspiration photos.
