L&L: Tell us a little bit about you & your business.

Marianmade Farm was founded in 2010 by Michelle Peele as a working lavender and flower farm. A few years later, after many people exclaiming how perfect the setting was, Michelle built a timber frame barn, bridal cottage and waterfront ceremony site to begin hosting weddings and private events. The farm continues to produce flowers for Michelle’s designs and lavender which is sold in mid-coast Maine and beyond.

L&L: Describe the range of services you offer.

Floral design services and wedding venue (ceremony + reception)

L&L: What is one thing you would say makes your business unique in the industry?

Our venue incorporates elements of farming life and is situated on the water. Pretty quintessential Maine! We’re within walking distance of the quaint village of Wiscasset, giving guests a unique experience throughout the weekend of the wedding. Our timber frame barn was built with weddings in mind. That means it’s bright, beautiful and functional. Not many barn venues have bathrooms on site! (we have three!). Mostly, the flowers, lavender and shrubs grown at Marianmade Farm are the perfect backdrop to any wedding at any time of year.

L&L: What are some of your favorite venues and vendors you enjoy working with in the area?

Caterers: Trillium & 111

Maine Planners: Daisies & Pearls, Refinery Events, L. Brook Events, B Merry Events, Maine Seasons Events

Florists: Broadturn, Watershed, Flora Fauna, Emily Carter

L&L: How far in advance do couples usually book you for their wedding day?

> 1 year in advance. We’re currently booking 2017 weddings.

L&L: How do most clients find you?

Word of mouth, blog features, vendor referrals.

L&L: What is the most memorable wedding you’ve worked at and why?

This season we hosted so many beautiful weddings but the smaller, intimate weddings are our favorite. It enables the couple to focus on their guests and allows them to direct their budget to the top vendors, which ensures a smooth event for everyone involved.
