Authentic Ceremony

Victoria Burdick, Rev. MDiv from Authentic Ceremony

L&L: Tell us a little bit about you & your business.

I am a fully ordained Celebrant/Chaplain/Minister, with a Masters of Divinity. My vocation as a Hospice Chaplain is the reason I love celebrating life!

L&L: Describe the range of services you offer.

My ceremonies serve the ‘wheel of life’ from Baby Blessings, Weddings, Renewals, to Memorials.

L&L: What is one thing you would say makes your business unique in the industry?

Each occasion is built from the intimate stories of the people being celebrated. I am dedicated to taking painstaking time to interview and get to know the folks I serve, so that the event is a true reflection of the living truth of their love.

L&L: What are some of your favorite venues and vendors you enjoy working with in the area?

Lord Thompson Manor, Ocean House, Saltwater Farm Vineyard, Stonington Vineyard, South Ferry Church, The Towers, Branford House

L&L: How far in advance do couples usually book you for their wedding day?

It varies, usually one year to three months.

L&L: How do most clients find you?

Word of mouth! Reputation is priceless.

L&L: What is the most memorable wedding you’ve worked at and why?

At the bedside of a dying mother, so she could witness her love going forward in family through her daughter.

L&L: How can couples get in touch with you?

My website.

L&L: Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

The personalization of a ceremony make a moment amazing. The collective should participate, not spectate, the living deepest root of the family tree be honored.
