Tearjerking Ceremony Songs

December 10 • 2013

Nicole at The DIY Bar, loves music almost as much as we do.  So we knew she would be the one to give us a list of ceremony songs that wouldn’t include “Ave Maria” (sorry Schubert!) but would include some tunes modern millennial brides will love and families will tear up over.

When most brides start planning their big day, they immediately think of the dress, the flowers, colors, and food. Sure, those are all important elements for any wedding, but at the end of the day, the music is what ties the day together and is something that is often though of last,  if not least.

Since music is a key factor in almost every big moment of your wedding, and a direct reflection of your personalities as a couple, make sure you don’t skimp on giving this piece of your wedding the thought and planning it deserves! For my wedding, music was easily the detail I focused on the most (really, I was obsessive about picking the most PERFECT first dance song) and spent hours agonizing over each choice.

When you’re making your ceremony music selections, don’t be afraid to deviate from the traditional, in favor of your taste.  Trust me; people are probably just as sick of Pachelbel’s Canon as you are, and if this is the kind of music you and your fiancé enjoy most, it will have so much more meaning for you and everyone involved!
