We’re tickled to share a few of our latest fun finds today. We just couldn’t wait to tell you about these three items – think beauty, bridesmaids and balloons (yay for alliteration!).

Akari Style Bar

Plenty of brides already know about Akari, one of Portland’s top salons. But the Middle Street stylists are now offering a trimmed down version of their hair and makeup services that you might not know about. At the Akari “Style Bar,” pull up a stool for a mini blowout or mini updo and makeup touchup, along with (fittingly) a glass of wine. Stop by between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and pay just $35. Sound perfect for a rehearsal dinner, bachelorette night or engagement session? We thought so too.

Bridesmaid Dress Quilt

The horror of an unflattering bridesmaids dress is all too familiar to many of us, but what to do with it after the wedding? Even if you never again plan to wear a dress that hugged you in all the wrong places, ditching it just doesn’t feel right. Why not transform the dress into a keepsake? Indiana artist Kathy Carrier has teamed up with Uncommon Goods to turn bridesmaids dresses into cozy quilts. Order one for your favorite bride as an anniversary gift, or collect all the horrid dresses you’ve ever had to wear and get a quilt for yourself. You’ve earned it.

Bonjour Balloon

Imagine receiving a box in the mail that opens up to reveal a darling balloon floating up to greet you. And it’s not just any run-of-the-party balloon, it’s a clear one stuffed with colorful confetti and feathers with a handmade “tail” that adds an extra touch of charm. Bonjour Balloon will deliver these lovely little packages right to your friends’ or loves ones’ doors. Plus, you can add a personalized message to the tag, say, “Happy Anniversary!” or “Will you be my bridesmaid?” The 15-inch balloons stay afloat for 10 to 15 days. That’s plenty of time to put a smile on someone’s face.
